Bike Share

Building one of the densest bike share systems in North America is going to be a gamechanger for our city. With 4,500 bikes in San Francisco, our city will host the densest bike share network in North America.

We’re dedicated to seeing that expansion done right. Join our campaign to ensure that our first new transportation system in over 40 years serves all San Franciscans, regardless of income or neighborhood.

About Bike Share

Bay Area Bike Share (BABS) is managed and maintained by Motivate. The San Francisco Bicycle Coalition does not run BABS; we work to expand the program, help secure funding for an expansion and advocate for a full scale system in line with other great cities like New York, London, Mexico City and Washington DC.

Have you seen the mint beauties? Look for solar-powered electronic kiosks with many bikes where you can sign up for annual, monthly, daily or other kinds of membership. Once you’re a member, you can take a bike, ride to your destination and return it at the closest kiosk near to where you’re headed. Trips under 30 minutes are free.
